Nari Ward, Perez Art Museum Miami

The brief
Perez Art Museum asked Third Drawer Down Studio to design a set of exclusive and limited plate designs for their Nari Ward Exhibition. These exclusive collectors plates are made in conjuction with the Nari Ward: Sunsplashed exhibition that took place at the Perez Art Museum Miami in the Fall of 2015.

Plates are hand numbered on the back and are a limited edition of 250 for each design.

The artist
Nari Ward (b. 1963, St. Andrew, Jamaica; lives and works in New York) graduated with a BA  from City University of New York, Hunter College in 1991 and an MFA from City University of New York, Brooklyn College in 1992. Greatly influenced by his geographical surroundings, his dramatic sculptural installations are composed of systematically collected material from his urban neighborhood.  By revealing the numerous emotions inherent within found everyday objects, Ward’s works examine issues surrounding race, poverty, and consumer culture.
